I feel so positive and so grateful to be alive!
Dear Babs,
I wanted to write to you as I’ve been contemplating my meditation practice and how it’s helped me in my life over the past few years since I first took your course, and how much my life has changed, with ups and downs, but through it all, meditation has been an amazing tool for me. The free monthly meditation & knowledge gatherings for all students who have taken your course are so helpful for getting and/or staying on track with the daily meditation practice you taught us.
I have had a really hectic few months where I’ve been working loads and juggling lots of things and I’ve fallen off the bandwagon now and again where my meditation has gone out the window haha. But as always, you’ve taught me that without judgement or regret, it’s always there for me to come back to.
The year I met you and first took the course, my life completely transformed – so much so that I still to this day think of it as the time that I “woke up” after years of “sleep-living”. I went through enormous growth and change and I honestly feel that I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it wasn’t for you.
Life is full of ups and downs, and I have gone through months of not meditating (or just meditating once in a while) to then coming back to it again, where I can feel the dramatic difference of how I show up in the world, how I can handle things and deal with life in general when I am meditating consistently. I have been thinking about what you said before about there being two reasons that people fall out of their meditation practice – when you’re in a bad place, feeling very down and when you’re coasting – life’s good and you feel you don’t really ‘need it’ and just forget to keep it up!
Last year was a particularly difficult year for me where I really struggled with my mental health and very low self esteem and just fell out of meditating consistently… and when I did meditate my mind was so busy and messy and they weren’t very gratifying (I used to think that I was doing it wrong until I retook your course and learned that whether it’s gratifying or not, it’s still having a profound affect). It’s taken me over a year to get back to a place where I’m feeling much better in myself and I’m very grateful to have mental wellness and feeling much happier now, but I had to laugh – oh no! Now I’m coasting!! Haha!
Meditation has always been with me; I’ve never completely lost it, but it’s just keeping a consistent practice that I’ve found difficult because I can be a bit chaotic and all over the place! But I’ve started being more consistent again with my practice and I know it’s something that really benefits me and even though life can be hectic, it’s something that I know is such a powerful tool that helps me no matter what I’m going through or how I am feeling.
I feel so positive and so grateful to be alive! I just wanted to say that I’m really grateful to have met you and for being introduced to meditation through you. Taking your course honestly was life-changing and has always stayed with me since as an important part of my life. I admire what you do so much, all of the care and support you offer to everyone who takes your course.
As I write this I have to confess that I missed this morning’s meditation (I lost track of time and had to run out the door!!) but I had a beautiful meditation this evening, and tomorrow is a new day.

“My life has changed since you guided me to the benefits of meditation”
I completed the Learn to Meditate Course in October last year, live on Zoom. I can honestly say it has had a fundamental positive impact on my mindset. Babs is an incredible human being, the work she has done to support her clients and communities over the last year has been immense (all age groups!). She is such an inspiration and I can highly recommend her course and ongoing support resources.
My life has changed since you guided me to the benefits of meditation and the Being Technique you teach. I look forward to our weekly community meditations and whilst they are on Zoom the energy and connections are still meaningful and positive. I am grateful for the Heartspace Community.

I recently completed the 3 day Learn to Meditate course with Babs and can without a doubt say it was such a rewarding, enjoyable and fulfilling experience for me. It was something I had always wanted to learn so that I would be able to improve my self care and this course provided the tools and the awareness that I needed. I learnt so much and Babs teaches in the most gentle, knowledgeable and compassionate way; she is just amazing and it was so lovely to connect with others in the group and learn from them also. Including this meditation in my day is helping me to take a step back, breathe, think clearer and be grateful whilst easing the stresses and worries of everyday life. “I’m feeling calmer and quieter than ever”
When I first did the course I was looking for a new experience, another way of looking around me and inside me. I didn’t believe I was able to slow or calm down, because I’m a very fast person. Fast thinking, fast doing and fast solving the daily problems. I barely used to take time to look at my own needs and I was always thinking ahead and planning the future.
I’m glad I took time to do the course, I’m glad I met such amazing new people. I’m so happy that we did the course before this big global madness that doesn’t seem to be close to an end. It was the perfect timing and it allowed us to practice more often that we will normally do in our regular daily life. I’m feeling calmer and quieter than ever and even when I don’t meditate I can recall the eyes open feeling and use it when I’m more stressed. I’m feeling thankful for this experience and I’m happy and proud. I discovered a new dimension of myself and I learnt to appreciate and to be more kind with me. I will try to meditate often for the rest of my life and I believe this will help me to be happier and to live the present and in the present.

“Babs is really expert at putting the whole class at ease”
I recently completed the 3 day Learn to Meditate course with Babs. As a senior, I was a bit unsure if meditation would be for me. At first I was wary, nervous and slightly uncomfortable, but I needn’t have worried. Babs is really expert at putting the whole class at ease and creates a warm, safe and friendly learning experience. Babs teaches a simple meditation technique and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I took to it. The new me now does meditation every day which brings so many benefits. Meditation has taught me to be kind to myself and I also feel more loving and peaceful. Meditation for me is very grounding and rewarding and I find difficult times less stressful. It helps me stay within the day, yesterday is gone and we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. A surprising benefit for me was how I had become more in tune with nature and myself during my many Covid19 lockdown walks. Babs runs a free monthly meditation group where we can share and learn from each other’s experiences. I always look forward to touching base with kindred souls and we all benefit from the shared experiences and support and of course, we also have some laughs which help along the way.

When I did the Heartspace Meditation course with Babs, I had limited experience with meditation and wasn’t really looking to get into it, but instead I ended up doing the course by chance and I’m very grateful that I did. “I’m much more relaxed”
I’ve always wanted to practice meditation, however never really got into it, until I had an opportunity when a friend introduced me to a three day weekend meditation course with Heartspace Meditation. It was exactly what I needed to get a grasp of how easy and therapeutic it was and still is for me. “As a chronic insomniac it has helped me to relax and sleep better”
I took a leap of faith and did the three day meditate course with Babs. I had never meditated before so I had a lot to learn. It was a great decision as I have been able to use the techniques on a daily basis when I’m travelling so much for work. Perfect opportunity to connect with yourself on my plane & train journeys and feeling the benefits immediately. As a chronic insomniac it has helped me to relax and sleep better too which is fantastic. Highly recommended this to anyone!

I really enjoyed the 1 Giant Mind Learn to Meditate course with Heartspace Meditation. Babs is a wonderful teacher and creates a relaxing comfortable environment.
